The Legacy Donor Program is a leadership-level giving initiative designed to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the Lucy Fernandez Foundation’s education, safety, and advocacy work.
To inaugurate the Legacy Donor Program, the Foundation is honored to announce a $125,000 Legacy Pledge from Ambassador Bernie Navarro and Claudia Navarro, the Bernie Navarro Family Foundation, and Benworth Capital.
This founding commitment expands boating safety education and advocacy efforts statewide and establishes The LOVE LIKE LUCY Legacy Grant at St. Brendan High School, made possible by the Bernie Navarro Family Foundation & Benworth Capital. The grant honors Ambassador Navarro’s alma mater while reflecting the values that shaped Lucy herself—faith, responsibility, and care for others—and supports families who make extraordinary sacrifices so their children can receive an education rooted in character and opportunity.
Together, this leadership pledge advances prevention-focused education and safety initiatives that protect families and save lives on Florida’s waterways—making Lucy’s favorite pastime a safer one for all.
